Rainy Weekends

While rain was desperately needed (we are 9 inches behind this year already!!!) I really wish that it would not rain on the weekends. You see my weekends are generally one of two things; having fun outside or working my tail off outside. When it rains I often can not do either one, and that’s bad. When it just rains on one day, that forces me to cram everything into the other day. This isn’t so bad when it’s a ‘fun’ weekend but on work weekends it’s just blood sweat and tears ~ OK, generally not tears.

It rained most of the day Saturday, and it was a work weekend. Sunday, I got up at 8 and was out the door by 8:30. We headed out to the Amish to get our weekly installment of  vegables (some people can’t spell vegables can they Cyndi  ). On the way back we swung by to pick up a quick breakfast, and once home it was to the yard! Cyndi rode the riding mower for the next several hours as I built an extension onto the henhouse so they could have a bit of a safe yard to scratch on. Then we rested for a little bit and then Cyndi worked in the house (laundry, dishes, etc) while I gave Cletus a flea bath (with DIP). After dinner it was back to the yard to put the finishing touches on the coop, and to touch up the yard with the push mower & trimer.

After that, it was two hours on the computer and then seven and a half hours in bed…

Today is starting off to be a grand one though. Perrin is just cute as a button (as usual) and has made his Unci well up in tears of joy as he did something so adorably cute there was just no other reaction that could have been justified (i ov uo… oo). I ran out to feed the chickens and they were ecstatic when I opened up the window so they could hop out into their new yard. I petted Cletus and while he’s not tick-free, he’s maybe got dozens rather then hundred. (Tonight its cat baths *cackle*).
