Forest Breath and Qryztufre’s Wedding!

If you check out the link above it will take you to a thread on Occult Corpus that deals in the details of planning my wedding with the woman I love more then anything. if you are a member of the Corpus then feel free to hop in and give your input. If you are not a member then please feel free and join so you can help in the planning of my most sacred of days.

Though sadly, the main points I seem to be pulling out from it are rather off topic. (Cyndi, can we go to the Renaissance fair?)

My mom is a Damn yankee

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

My mother has had a very busy weekend that’s crossed over into the week. She’s showed her house several times to potential buyers and some seem rather promising. She’s also made a trip to the DMV to get the boat and trailer legal, or to at least find out what it takes. She will likely just get a two week tag for the tip down here on the trailer, as that will save having to transfer it from Michigan to Tennessee or something.

She called down here to an apartment complex that she really liked and talked to the Owner (Tracy I believe). The lady said that they have two people that will likely be moving out in the next month or two. The first is a couple that I guess are looking for something bigger then the current two bedroom place they have now. It’s got 13,000 square feet, two rooms, a large bath, and a Jacuzzi.

The other come coming up belong to an old lady that’s likely lived too long. She complains about EVERYTHING and expects the land lord to fix things that are hers (like her toaster). The landlord has had enough and has raised her rent (which was the first hike the lady had in years, when all the others went up). At any rate the lady is refusing to pay the difference so will likely be gone at the end of next month.

My Mom will need to pay $550 – $600 depending on which one she gets (or which one is available). She’ll need to sign a one year contract to show interest in staying, after the year it converts to a month by month agreement. That’s a bonus! The lady also told my Mom that her and Norm could put up a privacy fence if they got one of the outside duplexes, and that gardens, bird feeders, and the like were all fine and dandy so long as they were not intrusive to the neighbors.

My mother passed along her number, but will likely also give her mine. If something comes up we’ll be called, and likely need to run over and get paperwork and whatnot. If my Mother does get the place she’ll be nearly dead center between here and Shannon’s house which is roughly a five minute dive in either direction. I think She’ll enjoy that…

A day in Athens

Saturday, April 14th, 2007

Yesterday was strange, Cyndi & I kept Perrin for the evening. It was rather nice. We took him and Devin out to McDonald’s for dinner, then brought Perrin back to the house for a few hours so Amanda could have a nice evening along (which is a different story which did not play out as planned). Around 8 we dropped the little guy off at home so he could go to sleep. About three quarters the way back from dropping him off we realized that we still had his car seat, so rather then back tracking we just decided I’d spend the day at his house to babysit rather then having him here.

Amanda does not have cable so we watched cartoons on DVD. There is one DVD I actually like of various Looney Toons, though there are several on it that are rather humdrum. Ir was during one of these lame episodes that I took this picture of us with my cell.

Watching nothing

A bit later I laid him down for his afternoon nap. He went to sleep rather quickly for me having him at his house so YAY 4 that. He also slept rather well… in fact, well enough for me to screw his heater vent onto the floor so he’d stop pulling it up and using it for a toy disposal. I also fixed the bathroom door which would not latch properly (I’m such the handy man). When it was time for him to wake up I made a bit of a ruckus on my way into his room (he dislikes being woke up, but is generally fine with ‘waking up’ hence the noises).

He woke up utterly perplexed as he could not figure out where he was at first, then could not figure out why I was there with him. He was so confused he held a pillow in front of him (as if in protection) and just looked around. Once the fear and confusion wore off he turned into his normally chipper self…but with a horrible case of pillow head…

Just up

The rest of the day was fine. When Cyndi and Amanda got out of work Cyndi and I headed out to run a few errands. Then we called Amanda and ate a nice dinner at Western Sizzlen. After that we went shopping, then it wasback home to feed the cats, dogs, and of course the 52 chickens…

Two kids, a clown, and the woman I love

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

Had a blast today at McDonalds with Perrin & Devin…and by blast I mean the place nearly exploded with obnoxious children. Luckily I have more patience then Cyndi does ;)

It was actually not all that bad of a time for anyone I guess.

Both kids got happy meals, Cyndi got some wraps, and I got the usual (two double cheese burgers). Devin wanted to head out to play in those strange kid-eating-tubes but from the looks of the kids already out there it was WAY too wet for him. Besides, in one of the bubble window things it looks like someone had lost their lunch, or at least lost a chocolate shake. Those play things, in my opinion, are simply disgusting. At least publicly…I would LOVE to own one myself.

Tomorrow, if I can talk Shannon into it, will be spent at the park with both children. I must enjoy the pain…

House For Sale!

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

Several years ago my Mother bought a house for 13,000, well, OK, it’s not a house, it’s a trailer, but it’s in a nice community that keeps out the normal trailer riffraff. A few weeks ago she put a for-sale sign in the window and has been looking into options of how to advertise that it’s on the market without needing to pay some Realtor, or pay the fees to put it in the Home-Buyers Guide. She was not looking all that hard as Norm plans on staying up in Michigan till at least October when he retires, but she thought it’s best to plan ahead. Sunday was her Birthday so her and Norm headed out to celebrate by spending the weekend up at my Grandmothers and then Monday and Tuesday at a Casino.

When they got back there were two messages on the machine with people inquiring about buying her house. One a small family I believe, and the other an older woman looking for something smaller then her house but bigger then an apartment. Both parties sounded very interested in the house, and now both have appointments with my Mother to come and look at it this upcoming weekend. If all goes well, my mother might actually sell the home by next month.

The current price on the house is 22,000 (9,000 more then they originally paid) and it’s by far one of the cheapest trailers for sale in the park, and likely the largest and one with the most options. They are making a steal in the real estate market by buying low and selling high, but are getting hosed in the actual going price. Regardless thought they are coming out ahead of the game. I told her to stand firm on the price because of the comparisons of near-by homes but if she wanted to come down to only drop to maybe 21,000 as any thing less and the folks could buy the trailer down the road.

Regardless though, they will certainly get enough money to pay the local moose lodge enough to have them packed up & shipped down here to Tennessee by the holidays. My Mother will likely show up sooner.
