I’m working on my astral senses pages now and they are going a bit slower then I planned, but much better then I’d have hoped for. They are based on working with or without a partner and revolve around a one hour walk 5-7 days a week with extra credit segments lasting from a few moments to an hour or so each. I’m working it out into a course that will last a full year, but can be cut down to 6 months so it’s very versatile.

I have four and a half of the senses done thus far and will likely have the rest finished by the end of next week. I likely would have done a bit more today, but Azrael tipped a cup of coffee over and I needed some time to cool down before I got to working again.

Originally I was planning on offering it as an e-book, and charging a dollar or two for it but now I think I’ll be setting it as straight HTML and then maybe offering a bit more *shrug* via a downloadable version. I’m unsure if I’ll charge for it, though likely will not. However, I’m reserving the right to submit it into publishers to have it officially on the shelves.

All in all I am very happy with how my page(s) are coming along!

As many of you are aware I have had an interest in the Necronomicon, Cthulhu Mythos, and various deities from the Sumerian Pantheon. While my writings on it have been rather lax over the last year or so, it still holds a special place in my heart. I’ve had a webpage dealing with it for two years now with only a slight upgrade since I moved down here to Tennessee. That is changing!

I have completely reformatted my Necronomicon page, and have tweaked out much of it’s content. Before it was little more then a copy/paste job from various forum posts. I’ve removed most (all?) references to that now and made it more fitting for an actual website. If you have an interest in it, then by all means check it out

Sumerian & Cthulhu Mythos

I still have a few more articles for conversion, but those are still in need to some tweaking. I also have other magickal and mundane musings which will be placed in another section of my site. Either way though, I’m one step closer to having a half way decent site…

Enjoy,

I am an evil evil person and should by rights be tied down and flogged…you see I support SPAM on certain levels and have been spamming people for months now. Though, I try my best to do it with tact & taste. How you say? Well, I just be myself, and in being myself, I just type what comes naturally…and in doing so, if I want to talk about something I have an interest in, I might as well get paid right?Â

Well, there are other ways of spamming someone that could get them to not notice. Like your forum signature, or even just being a friendly member.

Forum members are some of the pickiest users on the web when it comes to ads and advertising, to get them to click on an ad is like trying to get skeeters to bite someone bathed in OFF!. Subtly works best, and being helpful works even better.Â

I’ve been a member of forums that have had ads plastered in the headers, footers, and even a side bar…some of these forums I’ve been a part of for years, and never once have I ever clicked on any ad. Well, I guess I have, but I’m talking one click in thousands of page loads. That kind of CTR is horrible!

On the flip side, I have clicked many member’s signatures. I’m also prone to check out member websites, and sometimes if a member that’s been around for a while points something out in a post, I’ll gladly click. I like to assume I’m not alone in this anti-ad mindset, but still willing to click an actual suggestion.Â

With that in mind, I’ve taken the liberty of mentioning a new tips and tricks based on the things I’ve seen happen, and the things I’ve actually done myself. If this does place me as evil, then so be it…but keep in mind, my goal in this evil is to be relevant and helpful, for ALL involved. So while in the end it really is ME ME ME on the surface it’s helping out everyone.Â

Now you want to know what I’m talking about?

There are two points of reconstruction that have taken place on Occult Corpus recently and one of them is rather hard to miss. The other, while more subtle, is liking even bigger.

I have eliminated the Occult Aspect forum and have moved its contents under Magickal Persuasions. Originally I wanted to place Occult News, and Article Arcana under this header, but as it turns out I found a better place for the articles section (by itself). Regardless though, from the start of Occult Aspect I always had a tugging feeling that it detracted from Magickal Persuasions and was, for the better part, the same thing.

If you were gone from the site for the last three or so months and are just now returning, I guess the only ‘change’ you’d notice would be that Cryptozoology and Paranormal are both under Persuasions rather then Social Aspects, as I find them more suited as magickal accessories then a social phenomenon.

In my opinion, switching back to this format cleans up the board rather nicely and the reorganization I think may help the flow of conversation.

The second change (which by the way is only the first phase) was to promote two members to Super Moderator and then place them over a section of the board.

I promoted Forest Breath to supervise the Social Aspects board. She has shown a great interest in the site and has preformed her duties as a moderator with loyalty and respect. While she is as good as my Wife, my relationship with her was not a real factor in this promotion…and I am hoping that others can see her as the wonderful moderator that she is.

Cypher Grey was also promoted. For those that do not recognize the name, he was Chalis. He has also shown that he is responsible enough to hand a few more duties as a moderator. I pushed for his modship over at OF, and was adamant that he be a Mod here on the OC. I trust and respect him as a member, mod, and as a human. His main duties will be to cover Magickal Persuasions.

Mmothra was not demoted by any means however, his duties and responsibilities has lessened. He is now in charge of Magickal paths rather then the entire site.

With these two changes, and a few more changes to come, I hope to see Occult Corpus grow into one of the largest Magick, Pagan, and occult communities on the internet.

I’m a member at Digital Point forums and have noticed that they have rules that seem a bit loopy and onesided. They have no post whoring rules in effect and there are posts after posts with no content, and I mean NO CONTENT. Such as PM SENT! Like the nav bar does not show that. Post counts at this place are important, as if you have a high enough count you can see your signature links, avatar, and even your location. I’m seriously beginning to think I may start whoring my posts so I can make $2.99 a month *boggle* Actually, I’d like to see their staff increased 20 fold to help put a stop to such a thing.

At Digital point forums I’ve found that the rules are secondary once you’ve reached 100 posts. While I see name after name in red (banned) I’ve also noticed that there are many things which are seemingly simply ignored. Like Post Whoring for instance… Such a thing is clearly against the rules and I see some folks posting they got infractions for it. But I see more and more threads with “Thank you” or “PM SENT!” in them which does nothing but increase ones post count. And on a webmaster forum, just like the web Content is KING. With 2000 posts and 10 posts a day you can sell your signature links for a nice chunck of change. Currently, a link in a sig on a forum with such a high PR offers a lot of Google juice. You can also sell your Avatar and even your location field (as it’s seen in the post-bit). These are for product recognition rather then linkage. Such sales are generally aimed at the population of the forum (webmasters at the DP).

I don’t know, but it’s all really silly, and I think there should likely be a massive crackdown on such a thing…this includes a mass wipe of “PR UPDATE” threads which have infested the Google forum cockroaches in a dirty kitchen.

I’ve learned a lot at Digital Point, but I’m starting to get annoyed at the seemingly lopsided rules…
